Marae Trip

On Wednesday the 28th of August Good Shepherds School got on four buses and headed off the unitec marae for an unforgettable experience. We were welcomed into the Wharenui (meeting house) where we learnt about some of the carvings and the history of the marae. Then we made our way over to the whare kai for some morning tea. Later we learnt a song and the boys performed a haka. Here are some photos.

Maori

Here are a few words and phrases we learnt in Maori. They are words for food and a few other things that are food related. We have learnt the correct way to pronounce them and all about the long and short vowel sounds. Overall this year I have loved learning about different and new words and phrases.
